Create your support system

Creating a support system often means exploring modalities that are in alignment with who you are on your healing journey.


My journey started about 7 or 8 years ago, the physical injuries I was enduring at work resulted in many sessions with massage therapist, chiropractor, physical therapist (Body). I also started reiki sessions after an incident that damaged 5 of my verebraes at work (Spirit). It has been only recenty I incorporated talk therapy (Mind). I'm at the stage in my journey where I feel very much in maintenance mode.


Remember to incorporate support for one's Mind. Body. Spirit. As a Holistic Counsellor I use the unique blend of 3 during sessions. Some clients may wish to spend 60 minutes for counselling, while others may wish for 60 minutes of teaching (breathwork/grounding/clearing), while others may wish a mix of counselling, teaching, and energy work (reiki/sound bowls/tuning forks).


For those blessed with insurance coverage, check out your benefits for: Massage. Naturopath. Acupressure. Osteopath.


A quick tip is to look at your insurance coverage for each modalities. Break up those modalities into 12 month calendar. Book a session for your mind, body, and spirit 1 to 2 times a month if possible. Take the time to put your needs first.


When possible, learn to take time with modalities to connect with your mind, body, and spirit. Not everyone is blessed with insurance coverage, show gratitude by utilizing amazing support into your life.


Take care of YOU. You are worth 60 minutes a month.
