Masking is a coping mechanism for neurodivergent individuals both as students or professionals who find themselves in exclusionary and inaccessible work/school environments.
Recently I've had an influx of individuals inquiring with me, which I love! I love answering questions and helping others understand their uniqueness. Embracing my neurodiversity in a neurotypical world has NOT been easy.
I have spent the majority of my various professional careers working in mental health field. I am learning how to THRIVE and embrace my uniqueness. Those that know my journey, know I am an advocate for mental health, regardless of what career I hold.
I believe in a holistic & humanistic approach to environments, allowing individuals to THRIVE. Many neurotypicals "mask" as a survival strategy. However, over time Masking makes the mind/body/spirit drained & depleted.
